The Realtor as a Community
Advocate: Giving Back
At Burgdorff ERA, we know there is no stronger advocate for the home community
than the Burgdorff associate. Our lifestyle experience - imparted to incoming
transferees as well as to those who have lived in a community their entire
lives - is tremendously broad, and enhanced by the real estate process. So it
is easy to see why the primary volunteer effort of our Burgdorff salespeople is
that of community advocate. Realtors are the natural champions of their
hometown.
Burgdorff salespeople and employees also reach beyond the community advocate
role. Whether it's quietly delivering turkey dinners to the elderly at
Thanksgiving or making sure that graduating high school seniors enjoy their
celebration in a safe environment, you can bet that a Burgdorff staff member or
two is lending a hand!
As a company, all of us at Burgdorff ERA are committed to a unified support of
two statewide children's charities. By contributing to the challenges of New
Jersey's children, we know we are paving the way for a stronger, happier future
for the next generation. Whether a child faces a daunting illness that is
lightened by a granted wish, or experiences the relief from an abusive home
environment provided by a CASA volunteer, Burgdorff people are making a
difference.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of NJ is dedicated to ensuring that
abused and neglected children have a volunteer advocate to help them reach a
safe and permanent environment. CASA volunteers lead the efforts on behalf of
displaced children to create a solution that includes a safe, nurturing, and
permanent home. Volunteers advocate within the court system, understanding and
utilizing the resources of the many agencies and organizations that can
specifically aid in resolving issues.
Make-A-Wish of NJ continues to grant over 300 wishes each year to New Jersey
children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Whether it's the
opportunity to spend time with a favorite sports figure, redecorating a
bedroom, or the traditionally favorite trip to Disney, wishes that are granted
to Make-A-Wish children, and many times extended to their families, demonstrate
that there really are people who care and wish to help. Over and over we hear
from the wish-recipients whose lives have been enriched through the granting of
that special wish.
At Burgdorff ERA, we're proud to be members of the communities we serve in so
many ways. And we're delighted to touch the lives of so many people we care
about.
